Love this new restaurant, and how they practice ethical stewardship! To the menu item I found healthy, I ordered the Kale Salad and was blown away by how good it tasted. I’ve never had a kale salad when dining-out before, and I can tell you, this may have been the first time ordering it, but it sure won’t be the last time.
The kale itself was soft and easy to chew. I found out it had been massaged; giving it a nice texture compared to its usual roughness. The Caesar vinaigrette was light, and went really well with the salads other ingredients. There was also a very small amount of back bacon, a hens egg, and parmesan crisps.
As for the portion size, truly not to much food, just right for me.
Here’s the thing, sure there was a small smidgen of back bacon, and yes, there was a light caesar vinaigrette, but it was homemade, and overall healthy. I chose this salad mainly for the Kale, and the hen’s egg. I really do believe, I did myself a service eating the salad today!
Let me know what you think of the salad too.
On a side note, this restaurant is in the running for the “People’s Choice Award”, and they really do make almost everything in-house: their daily-fresh breads, soda’s, cured meats, and the list goes on.
Oh, and why Kale rocks, click here!
Great portion size for a female like me! Tasty, and healthy. They make most of their foods in-house, buy locally, and don’t purchase anything outside of Canada. Yes, I found out their fish is ocean-wise too.
Can’t think of any. I’d order this again!
They offer seasonal menus so please no this may not be available in the winter time, thank you!
